As your Congressman, border security is one of my highest priorities. I have been down to the border on numerous occasions and have seen the crisis at our Southern Border firsthand. After years of the Biden Administration’s shameful record at the border, it became clear that the Administration’s poor handling of the crisis was beyond incompetence—it was a willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law. And that is why under Joe Biden, every state—including South Carolina—is a border state.

The crisis at our border costs more than just our tax dollars, it is costing lives. Fentanyl is killing hundreds of thousands of Americans. Cartels are making hundreds of billions of dollars off smuggling, indentured servitude, and human trafficking. That is why I will always support legislation that secures our border, ends catch and release, restores the Remain in Mexico policy, reforms our broken asylum system, and holds the Biden administration accountable for the absolute madness and chaos they have caused at our southern border which is putting American lives at risk.
