Timmons Responds to Trump SOTU, "The Best is Yet to Come."

Last night, I had the privilege of hearing President Trump deliver his third State of the Union address. He provided a bold and optimistic vision for a more prosperous and safe America, and that is a vision that I think everyone should be able to get behind.

I particularly enjoyed President Trump’s remarks highlighting bipartisan issues such as economic growth, Opportunity Zones spearheaded by Senator Tim Scott, criminal justice reform, and national security. We have made a tremendous amount of progress over the last three and a half years, but there is still more to be done.

The speech was not only a tribute to the work and future work of the Trump Administration, but also a testament to the courage and resolve of the American people. The way the President honored former warfighters and their families was extremely powerful. The strength of any nation comes from the heart of its people and it was refreshing to hear the President spotlight some amazing and brave Americans.

The President has put America first throughout his first term, and his speech tells me we will continue to see more of the same. I am looking forward to putting impeachment behind us and getting back to work with the President and my colleagues in Congress on behalf of the American people and the 4th Congressional district. As the President said, “the best is yet to come.”
