Timmons Secures Funding to Complete Cleanup at Camp Croft

Spartanburg, SC — Congressman William Timmons released the following statement regarding the cleanup of Camp Croft:

“I am excited to announce that the Army Corps of Engineers (ACE) notified my office earlier this week that they will begin work to complete their cleanup of Camp Croft in Spartanburg later this year. I want to thank my colleagues in the South Carolina congressional delegation for their support during this process, and especially thank Jim Herzog of Cowpens for his tireless advocacy for the project.

“I first learned about the need to clean up Camp Croft during my time in the South Carolina State Senate, and this has been one of my top priorities since coming to Congress. The ACE began cleanup of the park in the late 1990s, but this announcement signals the beginning of what will be about $27 million worth of further remediation. I am thrilled that they have included this project in their budget and look forward to finally seeing Camp Croft reach its full potential.”
