Congressman William Timmons is a married man. The freshman congressman announced on Twitter Thursday that he recently tied the knot. In a tweet, the congressman from Greenville said he married new wife Sarah Anderson in an "intimate wedding ceremony" officiated by his mentor and friend Sen. Tim Scott. The couple was married on the Robert J. Dole Balcony of the United States Senate on July 17, 2019, according to Joshua Goodwin, director of communications for Timmons. "They are excited about beginning their lives together as husband and wife," Goodwin said. The couple will live together in Greenville, according to Goodwin. The year 2019 has been big for Timmons. He began serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives in January. Timmons, 35, replaced Congressman Trey Gowdy as the representative of South Carolina's 4th congressional district. Prior to his 2018 election, Timmons served as a state senator for the 6th district in South Carolina. Timmons, a Greenville native, is also an attorney and entrepreneur. He owns Swamp Rabbit CrossFit, which opened in 2011 in a space along the Swamp Rabbit Trail near downtown Greenville. Anderson, an attorney, plans to continue to practice law at her firm in downtown Greenville. |
