Timmons Announces District Work Period Visits Focused on Education

Next week, I am excited to meet with students and educators in Greenville and Spartanburg.

Next week, I am excited to meet with students and educators in Greenville and Spartanburg. I will be visiting a number of schools across the Upstate, including Southside Christian School, Wade Hampton High School, Fine Arts Center of Greenville, Greenville Charter Middle School, Greenville Technical College, Meeting Street Academy, University of South Carolina Upstate, and South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind.

As many of you know, I am on the House Education and Labor Committee. I feel strongly that we need to do everything we can in Washington to push the decisions and dollars as close to the child as possible. Parents and local education leaders are best equipped to meet the educational needs of our students. I am looking forward to this opportunity to learn more about some of the specific issues educators in the Upstate are facing and how the committee might address them.

If I am not visiting your school this week and you think I should, please email Freddie Gault, my director of outreach, atFreddie.Gault@mail.house.gov. We will schedule a visit in the near future.
