Congressman William Timmons (SC-04) released the following statement after Senate Democrats blocked a standalone bill providing emergency funding to small businesses using the Paycheck Protection Program:

“The Paycheck Protection Program is processing loans quickly and is expected to run out of funds in the coming days due to its high demand and popularity. This bipartisan program is a lifeline for America’s small businesses and workers who have been hit hard by this crisis. It is clear we need additional funding, yet today Senate Democrats blocked legislation to extend funding for this critical program. The American people need paychecks, not political games.”
