We are nearly $23 trillion in debt and have no plan to stop this irresponsible spending. I was pleased to see the Administration try to work with the House Democratic majority to ensure that the military is adequately funded, but other than that, there were not many positives about the bill.
At a time when the federal government needs to rein in its reckless spending habits, the House instead passed a two-year $2.3 trillion budget agreement. I believe that all people are equal and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their sexual orientation, but this bill would not achieve that goal.
Today, the House will vote on H.R. 5, the so-called “Equality Act.” I believe that all people are equal and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their sexual orientation. That said, the bill we are going to vote on does not successfully achieve this goal.
