The crisis at the southern border demands congressional attention and action. Last week, after months of political rhetoric, we finally took an important step to provide critical funding necessary to address the humanitarian crisis. While I am pleased that Congress acted, the road that we took to get here is concerning given what was hanging in the balance. I was pleased to be able to… Read more »
Once again, House Democrats chose to pass legislation that has no chance of becoming law rather than sitting down with Republican colleagues in search of real solutions. The Senate will not touch this bill, and the President has said he would veto it even if it were to reach his desk.
This bill is marketed as a solution to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) issue. As you… Read more »
Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 2157, authorizing a $19.1 billion spending package to provide financial aid to parts of our country impacted by natural disasters. Just this week, the federal government surpassed $22 trillion in debt. Only in Congress would this news be immediately followed by passing a budget-busting bill which in no way even attempts to get our fiscal house in order. When all is said and done, our annual… Read more »
