Congressman William Timmons (SC-04) released the following statement after voting against the Democrats' latest spending bill.

“Americans are feeling the effects of the Biden economy and 40-year-high-inflation at the grocery store, at the pump, and at the end of the month trying to make ends meet. Instead of real relief from the rising costs, today Democrats handed the American people tax hikes, harassing IRS audits, and no solutions for inflation – all in the midst of a recession.

“President Biden and Democrats in Congress have bungled our economic recovery. Their trillions of dollars in reckless spending caused our economic downturn, and now the bill before us today will only add to the pain families across our country are feeling.

“America simply cannot afford the Biden economy. I will continue to fight for lower costs for South Carolinians and oppose the left’s radical tax-and-spend agenda that further fuels inflation.”
