Congressman William Timmons (SC-04) released the following statement after voting against House Democrats’ gun control bills:

“In the wake of the senseless and horrific tragedy in Uvalde, our focus should be on stopping violence, not stripping law-abiding Americans of their rights. Tonight’s Democrat-led gun control bills will do nothing to prevent these tragedies from taking place again. We can improve school safety and address mental health without taking away the ability of Americans to defend themselves and their families. I voted no on these bills and will continue to advocate for real solutions that will secure schools and uphold our constitutional rights.”
